Meet the Coaches

Head Coach
Stephanie Cusack
Coach Cusack has been the McKinney North Swim and Dive Head coach since 2022. Prior to that, she was the assistant coach at McKinney North for the 2021-2022 season.

Coach Cusack received her bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in business from the University of Arizona. She lives in McKinney with her very supportive husband Ed, and wonderful daughters, Addison and Courtney. She enjoys jogging with her dogs, watching sporting events, and hanging out with friends and family.

Coach Cusack has sent several individuals to regionals in the’23 and ’24 season. A major highlight in the ’24 season included sending a diver to state for the second year in a row. Sending the girls 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, sending 3 individual event swimmers to state, and having an individual place 1st in the 100 Backstroke. In the ’24 season, McKinney North had its first 3-time State Champion in the 100 Backstroke. In the ’23 season McKinney North had its first back-to-back State Champion in the 100 Backstroke. In the ’22 season McKinney North had a State Champion in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.
The most important aspect of coaching to Coach Cusack are the relationships she makes with her student-athletes, and the lifelong opportunity to enjoy swimming and diving after high school.

The 2024-2025 school year is Ed’s 21st year in the classroom. After coaching baseball at McKinney North and teaching 8th Grade Social studies at Johnson Middle School for the last 14 years, Ed joined McKinney North High School full time. At McKinney North, he now teaches Teen Leadership and Lifetime Recreation and Outdoors, and he continues to be a part of the Bulldog Baseball coaching staff.
